There are more than hundreds of applications that say that they Save your battery Charge by installing them. But the reality is, such apps consume your battery and show you advertisements and they get profits. Some apps do really help us. Inbuilt battery savers are quite powerful because they have all permissions to control your hardware and software. Samsung and HTC phones do possess those features.
Let me share some tips to save your battery. All tips are minor savings but cumulatively saves about 15-20% charge per day which is quite handy at times.

KEEP YOUR WALLPAPER DARK–MOSTLY BLACK
Basics is, each pixel consumes more energy when pixel has white colour (Light colour) and less when black (Dark colour). So prefer backgrounds of your app, wallpaper to be dark or black colour backgrounds are quite effective. Avoid Live wallpapers too which sucks battery.

KEEP YOUR RADIOS OFF WHILE NOT IN USE
Radios in your mobile are Wi-Fi,Bluetooth,GPS,NFC and IR radios. Keep them off while it is not needed. Turning on Wi-Fi without using may cost 6-10% charge per day and Bluetooth is 0f 3-7%.
DONOT OVER CHARGE YOUR PHONE’S BATTERY
Unplug your phone when it is above 95% and don’t let it to fully charge especially when your phone’s life is above 1 year. It is because your charging speed slows down itself after 80% (varies according to manufacturer) and trickle charging is done for safety purpose. Older phones might overheat and cause further drain of charge.
There is a myth that is, when a phone charges over night, it will degrades the mobile battery. But smart phones are really smarter and stops charging when reaches 100%. But it is said for safety purpose (and sometime it works for older phones but rare).
LESS SCREEN BRIGHTNESS
Most common known fact is lower the screen brightness, higher the battery saving. You can use auto mode so that it adjust itself according to the light present in the atomosphere around you. But it uses light sensor which consume power. Manually adjusting the brightness takes a second, can save upto 20% charge a day.
TURN OFF VIBRATOR AND KEY PAD TONES
If you use ringtone with vibration, then turn the vibration off while your phone is in ringing mode. Vibrator is only for silent zones and we are misusing them. Keypad tones and keypad vibrations are unnecessary at most times and makes charge to drain by making the vibrator on.
TURNOFF AUTO SYNC OPTIONS
If you don’t want to sync you data to cloud or if ain’t a frequent Gmail user, then it is better to turn off auto-sync options which enhance battery life and saves charge.
SHUT DOWN THE GOOGLE VOICE SEARCH
Most of us type to search a topic and we don’t do much voice search. But microphone is always on to sense for “OK GOOGLE” word and to turn on voice search. Better turn off them.
KEEP YOUR APPS UP-TO DATE
Developers constantly update their apps in the Play Store. Bug fixes and optimization updates in the changelogs can play a part in your battery life.It is important to keep the apps up to date. An app which is optimized very poorly may cause burden on battery life. Therefore if developers push updates to their apps to fix such things, you need make sure update to the latest version.
LESS SCREEN TIMEOUT
Keeping less timeout value saves battery when phone is in idle state. It is not that very less timeout saves the charge adversly switching every time at short intervals drains battery. So keep timeout value,say 30 sec or 1 min, nominal according to your usage.
KEEP EYE ON SIGNAL STRENGTH
If signal strength is less, mobile phone antennas try to get high power signal and consumes energy. If you are going through a rural area, tower signals are rare and your mobile searches for signal. So make it to Airplane mode so that it prevents checking for signal and saves battery charge.
MAKE RENDERING ANIMATIONS TURN OFF
Animations make phones lively but draws battery power. You can turn it off in Developer options in settings menu.
Though widgets look cool on your screen, it sucks battery charge. Especially while booting the mobile, it makes your RAM to consume more energy.
These are techniques which don’t require any app, saves battery up to 15-20% of charge on daily basis.
